Kahama Shinyanga Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (KASHWASA) is a public Authority established and operates in accordance with the Waterworks (Cap.272) and Water Supply and Sanitation Act, 2019. The Authority’s major roles are to produce water from Lake Victoria, treat and supply in bulk to consumers who are mainly the Water Supply and Sanitation Authorities and Community Based Water Organisations. 

The Authority supplies bulk water to 83 Water Based Supply Organisations (CBWSO), 8 Water Supply and Sanitation Authorities (WSSA) and 2 mining companies. The served WSSA are Shinyanga, Kahama, Ngudu, Kishapu, Tabora, Igunga, Nzega and Maganzo, the served CBWSO are located in Misungwi, Kwimba, Shinyanga, Kishapu, Msalala. Nzega, Igunga, Uyui, and Tabora Districts. The mining companies are in Kishapu District. 

JOB VACANCIES

1. JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT TRANSMISSION TECHNICIAN II (PLUMBING)– 3 POSTS 

1.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
i. Inspecting transmission and reporting any deviation; 
ii. Repairing water leakages; 
iii. Reporting uncounted for water loss and recommending necessary rectification; 
iv. Reporting on unauthorized water connection;
v. Carrying out water disconnection and reconnection timely ;
vi. Keeping proper record of water connection/reconnection/disconnection carried out.
vii. Opening and closing sectional valves;
viii. Reporting of water pipes burst;
ix. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor. 

1.1.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Form IV Certificate with Trade Test Grade II in Plumbing and pipe fittings from recognized Training Institution.

Attractive remuneration package in accordance to institution`s salary scale.



2. JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT TRANSMISSION TECHNICIAN II (WELDING) – 2 POSTS 

1.2.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. Inspecting transmission and reporting any deviation;
ii. Repairing water leakages;
iii. Reporting uncounted for water loss and recommending necessary rectification;
iv. Reporting on unauthorized water connection;
v. Carrying out water disconnection and reconnection timely ;

1.2.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Form IV Certificate with Trade Test Grade II in welding and metal fabrication from recognized Training Institution

3. JOB TITLE: PLANT OPERATOR II (ELECTRICAL/MOTOR VEHICLE MECHANICS) – 1 POST 

1.3.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. Participate in managing water pumping machine operations;
ii. Prepare daily reports on plant operations and controls;
iii. Identify and report abnormalities of plant functioning;
iv. Observe and record and report of plant failures;
v. Assist in minor maintenance on machinery and equipment;
vi. Record operating time and fuel consumption and advise;
vii. Participate in undertaking routine checks on the plant to ensure continuous functioning; and
xi. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

1.3.2 QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Form IV with Level II either in Electrical or Motor vehicle Mechanics from a recognized institution and must have good interpersonal communication skills.

1.3.3 REMUNARATION:

4. JOB TITLE: PLANT OPERATOR II (WELDING/FITTER)– 1 POST 

1.4.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
i. Participate in managing water pumping machine operations;
ii. Prepare daily reports on plant operations and controls;
iii. Identify and report abnormalities of plant functioning;
iv. Observe and record and report of plant failures;
v. Assist in minor maintenance on machinery and equipment;
vi. Record operating time and fuel consumption and advise;
vii. Participate in undertaking routine checks on the plant to ensure continuous functioning; and
xii. Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
● Form IV with Level II either in Welding or Fitting and Turning from a recognized institution and must have good interpersonal communication skills.
