Shinyanga Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Authority, (SHUWASA) was established under the Water Works Ordinance CAP 281 as per Government Notice No.369 published on 25th July 1997. Subject to Section 3 (1) of the Water Works Regulations, The Minister responsible for Water Affairs declared Shinyanga Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Authority as a fully autonomous Authority with effect from 1st January 1998 by virtue of Government Notice No.61 published on 13th February 1998 (as amended by the parliament Act No.8 of 1997 of the United Republic of Tanzania). The Authority is mandated to provide adequate, quality and sustainable water and waste management services to Shinyanga Municipality residents at affordable and cost effective prices.

To be the most efficient Authority in Tanzania in providing clean, safe and potable water supply and waste water disposal services in a sustainable and environmentally friendly manner.
Mission
To provide high quality and efficient water supply and sanitation services to its customers within Shinyanga municipality in the most cost-effective manner; and to maintain a highly motivated, qualified, competent, committed and diligent workforce while applying appropriate technologies that are friendly to environment.

GENERAL CONDITIONS
i. All applicants must be Citizens of Tanzania of not more than 45 years of age except for those who are in Public Service;
