The Prevention and Combating of Corruption Commission (PCCB) is a public institution established under the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act No. 11 of 2007. This Act was enacted after the repeal of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCCB) Chapter 329 revised in 2002. The establishment of this body came after the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania passed the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Bill, 2007 on April 16, 2007. The Bill was signed by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania Mr. Jakaya Kikwete. became the Prevention and Combating of Corruption Act on June 11, 2007 and came into effect on July 1, 2007.
Vision
The vision of the Institute is to be the best tool that works effectively and efficiently while being at the forefront of the fight against corruption in Tanzania by 2025.
Mission
The role of the Institute is to prevent and fight corruption through public education, prevention, recognition, investigations and prosecutions, and by involving stakeholders to make corruption known to have serious and beneficial consequences for society.

The PCCB has invited applicants who applied for job vacancies of Investigation Officers advertised 23rd July 2020 in various fields of: Land Management & Valuation, Building Economics (Quantity Surveyor), Electrical Engineering, Water Engineering and Highway Engineering, to an interview that shall be conducted on 11th November 2020.
