Iringa Municipal Council is part of Iringa District (Iringa Urban and Rural). It is among of eight Councils in Iringa Region, other Councils are Njombe Town Council, Kilolo, Mufindi, Makete, Njombe, Ludewa and Iringa District Council. Iringa Municipality is bordered by Iringa Rural District. Nduli Ward in the North West, Kalenga Ward in the West and Mseke Ward in the South West. It also bordered by Kilolo District, Magulilwa Ward in the south East and Mazombe Ward in East.
