JOB VACANCIES
1. JOB TITLE: DATA OFFICER (20 Posts)
WORKSTATION: Dar Es Salaam
REPORTING TO: Facility In-charge
Duties and Responsibilities:
Data Entry Officers will be under the direct supervision of a data Supervisor and reporting to the site manager. Tasks for a Data Entry Officer will include but not be limited to the following activities.
● Enter quickly and accurately clinical, laboratory, tracking or other forms into database under the monitoring of Data Supervisor and reporting to the Site Manager
● Communicate both verbally and in writing with supervisors regarding forms with problems
● Sort and file forms as needed in numerical order or by date
● Communicate both verbally and in writing with supervisors regarding database problems
● Reconcile differences between different databases by running compare program, reviewing appropriate form and correcting all differences
● Locate and review archived or filed forms if necessary
● Attend data staff meetings at the specified times
● Communicate both verbally and in writing suggestions for improvements to data entry or data flow to supervisors
● Complete other data tasks as assigned
Requirements:
● A Minimum of form four education, certificate or diploma level training on computer study.
● At least one (1) year experience of data entry

2. JOB TITLE: District Laboratory Coordinator (1 Post)
WORKSTATION: Temeke Municipal Council
REPORTS TO: District AIDS Control Coordinator (DACC)
Basic functions:
● Provides technical assistance to MDH-project supported Laboratories in the District and provision of high-quality clinical laboratory services.
Responsibilities:
● Provide technical assistance and supportive supervision to the laboratories at regional, district and health center facility levels.
● Assist the laboratories to provide adequate and reliable testing services to support HIV and TB care and treatment services in the region.
● Work closely with other units, District Health authorities and other implementing partners to ensure adequate coordination and efficient utilization of resources for effective laboratory services in the region.
● Assist in the development of laboratory policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that will ensure implementation of activities of management, quality assurance, personnel performance evaluation and documentation to assure compliance and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
● Assist in the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of laboratory test results including follow-up on abnormal results and critical values.
● Provide logistical support for the procurement and ordering of laboratory reagents and supplies.
● Assist in the preparation of reports on logistic management of reagents and consumables in order to improve supply management.
● Assist in development of continuous training programs focusing on laboratory testing, QA/QC, GLP and safety.
● Assist the laboratories to implement and maintain ISO 15189 laboratory accreditation standards.
● Support the laboratories to properly implement data management practices and ensure accurate and reliable reports and data are generated.
● Ensure preparation of monthly and quarterly reports and submission to the appropriate authority.
Education and Professional qualifications
● A Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in health laboratory sciences or biomedical laboratory sciences.
● A minimum of 4 years’ experience in working at laboratory project management in the HIV/TB Care and Treatment settings.
● Vast experience on implementing QMS for the laboratory ISO 15189 accreditation standard.
● Ability to collaborate with government health management teams and other partners.
● Ability to work both as an individual and as a team with minimum supervision.
3. JOB TITLE: DISTRICT TB-HIV OFFICERS (1 Post)
WORKSTATION: Ilala Municipal Council
REPORTS TO: District AIDS Control Coordinator (DACC)
Duties and Responsibilities
● To support implementation, M&E and reporting of TB, TB-HIV services under the Afya Kwanza project, as well as other relevant activities.
● To support implementation of initiatives to address key program, donor and national priorities - such as intensive TB screening and case finding among PLHIVs and IPT- in line with national guidelines
● To provide TA to the DACC, DTLC and HFs in planning, implementation, M&E and reporting of TB, TB-HIV services
● To support RTBHIV Manager to asses and implement initiatives to address skill and resource needs in TB, TB-HIV services through supportive supervision, mentorship, on-job training, CQI and other approaches in collaboration with R/DTLC, R/DACCs
● To support timely collection and submission of TB, TB-HIV data – as well as support strengthening of the related M&E systems - in collaboration with the M&E team
● To support RTBHIV Manager in writing technical program documents including reports, best practices, lessons learned and other relevant documents
● To support and advise the RTBHIV Manager on all TB, TB-HIV issues and perform other relevant duties as assigned by the RTBHIV Manager
Requirements. Education, work experience and skills
● Degree or Advanced Diploma in Medicine or related field with relevant national registration
● At least 2 years of experience working in public health programs/ services
● At least 2 years of experience in design, implementation, management and M&E of TB, TB-HIV or related clinical and public health programs and services
● Experience in using CQI, PHE and OR techniques to address public health challenges
● Experience in writing reports, best practices and lessons learned
● Excellent command of Swahili and English languages, in written and oral communication
● Experience in basic computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, Power point and internet
● Ability to work under pressure and stringent deadlines
4. JOB TITLE: Maternal and Child Health Officers (1 Post)
WORKSTATION: Ubungo Municipal Council
REPORTS TO: District AIDS Control Coordinator (DACC)
The Maternal and Child Health Officer (MCHO) is a self-motivated individual who will assist the Regional Maternal and Child Health Officer (RMCHO) in implementation of the MCH activities at district level. She/he will report to the Regional MCHO and will work in close collaboration with the Regional Maternal and Child Health Manager (RMCHM).
Duties:
● Assist MDH supported PMTCT and Pediatrics clinics to meet the national standards for comprehensive management of HIV/AIDS
● Support the MCH unit to achieve optimal uptake of viral loads services among clients in both pediatrics and PMTCT units
● Providing technical assistance to site staff on implementation of national standards for PMTCT and Early infant diagnosis at PMTCT within the respective district.
● Coordinate and actively participate in Joint Supportive Supervision (JSS) with the district teams
● Support and supervise facility and provider tailored mentorship
● Identify training needs among supported facilities and ensure that quality trainings are conducted
● Offer follow up of trained HCPs to ensure that the knowledge gained translate into skills and competency acquisition
● Assist the RMCHO & RMCHM in preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual district reports
● Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager
Qualification:
● Bachelor’s degree/ Advance Diploma in Social Work Diploma in Clinical Medicine/ Nursing/ Nurse Midwife
● At least three years of experience on HIV/AIDS Program implementation
● Minimum of three years’ experience on MCH unit service

5. JOB TITLE: Medical Officer (1 Post)
Reports to: Health Facility I/C
Duties and Responsibilities
● Providing clinical care to HIV patients in the Clinic including: Management of Opportunistic Infections
● Staging of HIV patients for Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) eligibility
● Initiating patients on ART Managing complications of ART Initiation and monitoring of Post-Exposure Prophylaxis
● Providing consultation to HIV-positive patients on the wards as requested
● Maintaining accurate medical records and other data collection as required for
Monitoring and evaluation within the Clinic
● Participating in Clinic Team Meetings and assisting the site manager with strategic planning for the Clinic
● Doing any other duty as assigned by the site manager.
Qualification and Experience:
● Holder of Diploma, OR Bachelor Degree in Clinical Medicine from a recognized institution; should have been registered with Tanganyika Medical Board and he/she should have an experience of at least 3 years in the field of expertise.
