Iringa International School was started in 1993 by a group of expatriate and local parents in Iringa to provide a sound education of international standard for children in the Southern Highlands region of Tanzania. It is guided by a Board of Trustees and a Head of School. A Board of Management is an elected group of parents who work in cooperation with the Head of School.
